Autumn 2014
The
collapse of the Digital Region network hit us hard due to a large number of
customers losing service. We've made a lot of mistakes primarily due to our
being a young, growing company that was trying to deal with such a large scale
and unique supplier closing. As I type, the team are still working hard to
overcome the technical difficulties that arose from trying to move all of our
customers to our new network - but day by day, we're making more and more
progress, and the patience that our customers have shown has been amazing. On a
more positive note, the quality of customers' connections on our new network
seems to be improved more often than not and prices are much lower now we're a
full network operator. We're very pleased to have new faces joining us left
right and centre too! Creating new local jobs is what it's all about and we're
getting all of our new team members up to speed as quickly as possible to
better serve our customers.
As we moved forward from the very difficult events surrounding the closure Digital Region Ltd. we were very proud to work with Bauer Media to launch our ‘Broadband’s Alive’ campaign. We teamed up with one of Yorkshire’s finest actors and all round amazing human being, Brian Blessed to deliver our message as only he can. Working with Brian was an absolute joy, and I hope you’ll agree that he really put his heart into the recordings for us.

it's been a real journey. There's been a few bumps - and a lot of turbulence
mainly due to our young company's rapid growth... but we're really finding our
feet now!! We're looking forward to being a real success story in the coming
years - and looking forward to creating many more opportunities for those
seeking a career in Doncaster and the wider Yorkshire area. I hope I didn't
bore you with all that. We're very proud of all we've achieved and we really
believe you ain't seen nothing yet!
Summer 2014
It's
getting warm!! Looks like we forgot to install the air con, but we're fixing
that as we speak. Lots of productive meetings are happening right now as we
finalise the rollout of our new network and work on migrating all of our
current customers across.
A big deal for us was when we were selected to take customers from a company called 'DRBSY' who were former partners of ours on the old Digital Region network. As we had a firm migration plan in place, we won the deal - which sees hundreds more businesses move over to Origin's amazing service. Lots more work for our newly built Network Operation Centre!
After winning two regionals, Oliver has also been chosen as 'Young business person of the year for the whole Sheffield City region; this puts him first among winners from 6 chambers!
